Eddie Williams

Career: 
Played in the big leagues for parts of 10 seasons with six different teams, including the Dodgers in 1997.

Did you know? Attended San Diego's Hoover High School, the alma mater of Hall of Fame outfielders Ted Williams and Tony Gwynn ... was selected by the Mets with the fourth overall pick in the 1983 draft ... was named the Class-A Midwest League MVP in 1985 ... hit .331 with 11 homers and 42 RBI in 49 games for the Padres during the 1994 strike-shortened season ... his son Trey played in the Phillies minor league system for two seasons (2013-14).

Post-game: Worked as a minor league hitting coach in the Oakland A's minor league system and as a private hitting instructor, who tutored Bryce Harper as a pre-teen.
