Artie Dede

Career: Appeared in one game for Brooklyn in 1916.

Did you know? Was pressed into service on October 4, 1916 due to injuries to Brooklyn's receiving corps, and in three innings of work, went 0-for-1, allowed three steals and committed two passed balls ... years later, was credited as the Dodger scout who discovered Sandy Koufax.

Post-game: Was involved in the trucking business for 24 years, and later was a longtime major league scout for the Dodgers and Yankees ... died on September 6, 1971 at age 76.
