Harry McIntire

Career: Played in the big leagues for parts of nine seasons with three teams, including Brooklyn from 1905 to 1909.

Did you know? Held Pittsburgh hitless for 10-and-two-thirds innings on August 1, 1906, and eventually lost, 1-0, in 13 innings ... registered three 20-game losing seasons, all with Brooklyn (1905-06 and 1908) ... was the losing pitcher for the Cubs in Game 3 of the 1910 World Series against the eventual champion Philadelphia Athletics.

Post-game: Worked as a scout, gambled and golfed professionally, and in 1938 married a prominent woman in New Orleans politics ... died two days prior to his 70th birthday, on January 9, 1949.
