Career: 
Played in the big leagues for parts of five seasons with three teams, including the Dodgers in 1944 and 1945.

Did you know? Celebrated his 24th birthday by hitting a home run in his first big league game, on September 13, 1939.

Post-game: Worked as a minor league manager and a major league scout for the Washington Senators ... died of a heart attack at age 39 on March 18, 1955.
