Tom Daly

Career: Played in the big leagues for 17 seasons with seven teams, spending the majority of his career with Brooklyn (1890-1901).

Did you know? Participated in Albert Spalding's famous world tour of 1888-1889 ... was the starting catcher in Brooklyn's first-ever regular season game on April 19, 1890 against Boston, batting eighth in the order and going 0-for-3 with a run scored in a 15-9 loss ... hit the first pinch-hit home run in major league history on May 14, 1892.

Post-game: Managed in the minor leagues, and later was a major league scout and coach ... died October 29, 1938 at age 72 after a lengthy illness.
