Career: 
Played in the big leagues for parts of 10 seasons with three different teams, including the Dodgers from 1956 to 1958.

Did you know? Only college football player to play in the Cotton Bowl in back-to-back seasons for two different teams, for Texas Christian in 1945 and the University of Texas in 1946 ... belted the last home run ever hit by a Brooklyn Dodger, a three-run shot off the Phillies' Don Cardwell in the third inning at Connie Mack Stadium, on September 28, 1957.

Post-game: Worked as a life insurance salesman at Georgia International Life Insurance Company ... was inducted into the University of Texas Hall of Honor in 1989 and the Brooklyn Dodger HOF ... published Handsome Ransom Jackson: The Accidental Big Leaguer in 2016 ... died at age 93 on March 20, 2019.
