Career: 
Played in the big leagues for parts of five seasons with four teams, including the Dodgers in 1943.

Did you know? Led all outfielders in putouts (451), assists (10), and range factor (3.43) in 1945 while playing for the Braves ... was married to wife Marian, a former fashion model, for 59 years.

Post-game: Owned and operated with his wife a fabric and sewing supply store in Clearwater, FL for 25 years ... died of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig's Disease on May 10, 2020, three days prior to his 83rd birthday.
