Joe Orengo

Career: 
Played in the big leagues for parts of six seasons with five teams, including a brief seven-game stint with Brooklyn in 1943.

Did you know? Was acquired by the Dodgers in a five-player trade with the Giants on July 31, 1943, and was flipped 15 days later to the St. Paul Saints along with $40,000 cash for Howie Schultz.

Post-game: Served as a minor league coach, manager and general manager, went into business selling cars in the San Francisco area, and after the Giants moved west, worked for the club for 30 years in various capacities, rising to the rank of director of the team's speakers bureau ... was inducted into the La Salle Club Baseball HOF in 1983 ... died of a heart attack at age 73 on July 24, 1988.
