Tex Erwin

Career:
 Played in the big leagues for parts of six seasons with three teams, including the Dodgers from 1910-14.

Did you know? In 1908, while playing for Rochester, became the first catcher in International league history to wear shin guards; the first backstop to do so in the major leagues was Hall of Famer Roger Bresnahan the year prior.

Post-game: Worked as a salesman of cars, real estate and later life insurance, and thereafter served as the Republican city councilman for Rochester for 12 years (1937-49) ... died after a brief illness on April 5, 1953 at age 67.
