Carl Doyle

Career: Played in the big leagues for parts of four seasons with three teams, including the Dodgers in 1939 and 1940.

Did you know? Set a modern NL record (since broken) with four hit batsmen in a single game on June 8, 1940, and led loop that season with 10 HBP despite hurling just 86.2 innings ... was part of a blockbuster six-player and $125,000 trade with the Cardinals that saw Joe Medwick land in Brooklyn on June 12, 1940.

Post-game: Worked as a policeman for the Kingston (TN) Police Department, joining the force in 1942 ... died at age 39 on September 4, 1951 after an illness of several months.
