Dave Foutz

Career: Played in the big leagues for parts of 13 seasons with the St. Louis Browns (1884-87) and Brooklyn (1888-1896).

Did you know? Led league in wins (41), winning percentage (.719) and ERA (2.11), while batting .280 with 59 RBI and winning a World Series title in 1886 ... the following season, batted .357 with 108 RBI, while posting a 25-12 record and tossing complete games in 36 of his 38 starts.

Post-game: Served as Brooklyn's player-manager the last four years of his career, registering a winning season the first three years ... died at age 40 on March 5, 1897
