Mickey Hughes

Career:
Played the vast majority of his three-year big league career with Brooklyn, followed by a short stint with the original Philadelphia Athletics.

Did you know? Racked up 25 wins with an ERA of 2.13, while completing all 40 of his starts as a rookie in 1888 ... was the Opening Day starting pitcher for Brooklyn in 1889.

Post-game: Worked at and later co-owned a saloon with a female acquaintance, had several brushes with the law in the early 1890s, including being jailed for being drunk and disorderly, larceny and engaging in a duel while armed with a knife ... reportedly died at age 64 on April 10, 1931, but at least once reported that he had died decades earlier.
