Hub Collins

Career: Played in the big leagues for of eight seasons with Louisville (1886-88) and Brooklyn (1888-1892).

Did you know? In 1890 led the NL in runs scored with 148, while stealing 85 bases, second only to Billy Hamilton ... suffered a concussion and was carted off the field along with outfielder Thomas "Oyster" Burns after the players collided violently chasing a short pop fly to shallow right on July 20, 1891.

Post-game: Died of typhoid fever on May 21, 1892, one month after his 28th birthday.
