Howie Reed

Career: 
Played in the big leagues for parts of 10 seasons with five different teams, including the Dodgers from 1964 to 1966.

Did you know? Took a no-hitter into the eighth inning inning in first big league start, but had to settle for a five-hit 2-1 victory over the White Sox and boyhood idol Early Wynn ... led the PCL in wins with 19 in 1963.

Post game: Worked briefly as a sportscaster and later owned and operated a farm near Corpus Christi, Texas ... died of liver failure on December 21, 1984 at the age of 47.
