Career: Played in the big leagues for 14 seasons with six different teams, including the Dodgers from 1958 to 1962.

Did you know? Hurled a two-hit shutout in first big league start, on June 1, 1958 ... nicknamed "Big Hurt" because of his propensity of hitting batters with pitches.

Post-game: Served as a minor league manager, big league pitching coach, scout and advisor to several big league teams ... was inducted into the Colorado Sports HOF in 2013 ... died on February 20, 2021 at the age of 84.
