George Sharrott

Career: Played in the big leagues with Brooklyn for parts of two seasons in 1893 and 1894.

Did you know? Collected a single in his first big league at-bat on July 27, 1893, off pitcher Jack Sharrott, who just happened to be his cousin.

Post-game: Worked for a Brooklyn newspaper for more than 30 years, rising to the rank of foreman of the advertising department of the composing room... died at age 62 on January 6, 1932 after an operation for a ruptured gastric ulcer.
