Gil Hodges

Career:
Played in the big leagues for 18 seasons with Dodgers (1943, 1947-61) and the Mets (1962-63).

Did you know? Tied a major league record by hitting four home runs in a single game against the Boston Braves at Ebbets Field on August 31, 1950.

Post-game: Managed the Washington Senators (1963-67) and the New York Mets (1968-71), winning a  World Series in 1969 ... died of a heart attack on April 2, 1972 at age 47 ... was inducted in the Baseball HOF in 2022.
