George Hemming

Career: Played in the big leagues for parts of eight seasons with six teams, including Brooklyn in 1891.

Did you know? Handed Harry Stovey the dreaded platinum sombrero, striking out the Boston outfielder five times on June 30, 1891 ... was a 20-game winner for the pennant-winning Baltimore Orioles in 1895.

Post-game: Worked as an attendant at a bowling alley ... died of septic poisoning at age 61 on June 3, 1930.
