John O'Brien

Career:
Played in the big leagues for parts of six seasons with six teams, including Brooklyn in 1891.

Did you know? Was part of the 17-player Honus Wagner trade between Pittsburgh and Louisville following the 1999 season   ... his brother Dick was a professional boxer.

Post-game: Worked as a minor league and college baseball umpire, as a referee at boxing and wrestling matches, and as a cashier at a restaurant ... died at age 46 on May 12, 1913 ... was inducted into the Maine Baseball HOF in 1971 and the New Brunswick Sports HOF in 1974.
