Bill Joyce

Career: Played in the leagues for wight seasons with teams, including Brooklyn in 1892.

Did you know? Hit for the cycle on May 30, 1896 and nearly a year later, on May 18, 1897, became the second player in major league history to hit four triples in a single game ... served as the Giants player-manager for parts of three seasons (1896-98).

Post-game: Co-owned and operated a saloon for a decade, was the short-lived owner and manager of the Class-D Missoula Scrappers, served as a major league scout, and thereafter worked as a watchman for an oil company and later as a city smoke inspector ... died at age 73 on May 8, 1941.
