Gordie Windhorn

Career:
Played in the big leagues for parts of three seasons with four different teams, including the Dodgers in 1961.

Did you know? Was an All-American track star at Arizona State ... signed a pro contract with the Giants in 1952 despite never playing organized baseball ... his first big league home run was a called shot, walk-off four-bagger to lift the Dodgers to a 6-5 victory over the Phillies in the 11th inning on September 11, 1961.

Post-game: Played for the Hankyu Braves in Japan for six seasons (1964-69) and then worked as a scout for the Angels ... died on May 21, 2022 at the age of 88.
